After nearly 20 years of development, DLP projection equipment has gradually been severely impacted by LCD products in recent years. In order to cope with changes in the market environment, DLP projection equipment using LED light sources has been widely promoted and applied in the past three years. As we all know, the most criticized traditional DLP projection equipment is its UHP light source. The average lifespan of 6000 hours has caused the user's use cost to never be reduced, while the LED light source has a life span of 10 times that of UHP, which is a good solution. Up this problem. One, the choice of brightness and color gamut Although the LED light source has already reached the brightness of K class lumens in the traditional outdoor LED display, However, in the application of DLP, it still generally stays in the range of 600-800 lumens (high-brightness working mode), so the ambient light of the use environment needs to be more strictly controlled to reduce the customer's sensitivity to insufficient brightness of the LED light source drop to lowest.  At the same time, due to the wide color gamut characteristics of the LED light source (see Figure 1), we have the opportunity to apply in more complex environments. If the ambient light source is the usual cold white light or incandescent lamp, then it is recommended to adjust the color temperature in the range of 7500-9300K, so that the human eye will perceive higher brightness and more vivid colors. Figure 1   2. Due to the spectral characteristics of the LED light source, under the same brightness, the heat generated by the light source part is higher than that of UHP (see Figure 2). Therefore, it has higher requirements for heat dissipation design and environmental temperature control of the entire projection display unit. The current mainstream heat dissipation methods are mainly air-cooled and water-cooled. It should be said that each has its own advantages and disadvantages. The air-cooled type is more traditional and mature, and the water-cooled heat dissipation efficiency is slightly higher than that of the air-cooled type, but the design is more difficult, and the reliability of long-term use needs to be tested. Figure 2   3. Maintenance    The traditional UHP light source has a short life span and a fast brightness decay. After it is put into use, a higher frequency of regular debugging is required to maintain the brightness and color uniformity at a certain level. The long life and low attenuation characteristics of the LED light source have improved this situation. At the same time, because there is no color wheel, there is no need to consider the impact of long-term operation of dust on the output color of the light machine (see Figure 3). Cost of use Since the life of the LED light source has reached 60000 hours and there is no color wheel, theoretically, there is no need to consider the expenditure of consumables during the normal use cycle of the equipment.    In summary, the LED light source projector is in use. , The maintenance cost is a big step forward compared to UHP. As long as a breakthrough is made in the brightness of the light source as soon as possible, it can be foreseen that it will dominate the entire high-end large-screen splicing market within a certain period of time.
