From the late 19th century to the 1950s, almost all movies have a standard 1.33:1 ratio (this ratio is sometimes expressed as 4:3). In the 1950s, the newly born TV industry faced the question of what screen ratio was adopted as the TV standard. In order to facilitate the transfer of movies to TV screens, the National Television Standards Committee of the United States finally decided to adopt the college standard as the standard ratio of TV, which is the origin of the 4:3 TV screen ratio. This ratio is still the dominant standard for television to this day. Then why choose 4:3. In our daily lives, we often encounter rectangular designs, such as the size ratios of house windows, books, etc. Which size ratio is the most symmetrical and beautiful? In mathematics, there is a ratio called the 'golden sectionThe picture of ordinary screen movies is the size determined according to the golden ratio. The ratio of the width to the height of the frame is 4:3 (about 1:0.6). This standard has been used for many years, and everyone is also used to calling this kind of screen. Standard screen. 4:3 The currently widely used 16:9 ratio is due to the fact that people have found that the horizontal viewing angle of the two eyes is larger than the vertical viewing angle suitable for people and the characteristics that people see in daily life are not infinite, in order to expand the view of the audience , To increase the realism on the spot, so the ratio of 4:3 is squared. The images on the wide screen give a broader impression. The current 2.35:1 actually raises the ratio of 4:3 to the third power, the purpose is the same as 16:9, to expand the horizontal field of view. It greatly increases the expansiveness of the image on the screen, which is conducive to enhancing artistic expression, especially suitable for expressing natural scenery, crowd scenes and war scenes. And this widescreen ratio allows people to enjoy this broader field of vision. The concept of 16:9 2.35:1 ratio comes from the development of traditional film movies. At present, many foreign film companies use the 2.35:1 standard for widescreen movies. Why use a curved screen? Whether the traditional projection equipment is front projection or rear projection, whether the projector is placed in the center of the screen or hung on the roof, the distance from the projector to the screen is not equal, so the brightness of the screen is also It will vary. If the screen is large enough, you can still see some distortions in the displayed picture. The curved screen can make up for this problem. The light projected from the projector can be the same on the screen, so the same brightness and undistorted picture are guaranteed. This is indispensable for high standards. What determines the arc of the curved screen? It actually lies in the placement of the projector. Draw a circle, place the machine at the center of the circle, and measure the point-to-point distance of the straight line. such an arc and a large screen with a ratio of 2.35:1, the final effect can reflect that kind of immersive and inextricable sense of tolerance. Its shock and appeal are indeed full of charm.
