The national average daily increase of 5.5 screens in 2011 is faster than last year

Since 2011, my country has added 5.5 screens a day on average, which is faster than the world record of 4.3 screens per day set last year. The total number of screens in the country has increased from 6,200 last year to 8,000. From central cities to second- and third-tier cities, news of the opening of new theaters continues one after another. IMAX theaters with an investment of tens of millions of yuan have also become the standard configuration of many new theaters. Although the construction speed of theaters has been very fast in recent years, from a global perspective, our country now has more than 8,000 screens, which is far from being saturated. Take the United States as an example. Its population is less than 1/4 of our country's, but the number of screens is more than 7 times that of ours. At present, most counties in the country still do not have theaters, and many prefecture-level cities are also blank, so there is still a lot of room for growth. With the continuous increase in the number of screens, not only the increase in the box office and the increase in the number of movie viewers, but also the problem of film scheduling can also be solved. As many as dozens of Chinese and foreign movies were released in November, the 'day trip' of domestic small and medium-cost movie theaters will inevitably reappear, and many filmmakers complain that the theaters are not strong. Regardless of the movie’s “profit-only picture”, the lack of screens is also an important reason. In the face of 600 to 700 films each year, these 7,000 to 8,000 screens have become a scarce resource. If the number of screens can reach a certain number, perhaps this problem can be solved. Some solutions.
