\"little dipper\" sla/dlp 3d printer for under $500 (projector included)

If you would like to keep up with our 3D printing project, please follow us here or visit: Prototype building.
This explanation is about building a simple and universal resin (SLA)
Use a cheap DLP projector to build 3D printers of parts from \"top down.
The direction of this light source is similar to that of other large industrial SLA machines.
It has some advantages in simplicity, scalability, and some disadvantages in terms of minimum feature size and printing time.
The build for this version is budget conscious, with a small number of parts that can be easily upgraded and scaled down.
The entire 3D printer (
Projector and resin included)
Built for just $500 or less, which makes it the cheapest bang-for-your-
Buck 3D printer using SLA resin.
There are many good instructions and resources that contain more exhausting details about DLP resin 3D printers and background information.
If you are interested in learning more about this topic, it will be one of your best community resources.
Autodesk Spark recently released more information and support data for SLA 3D printers using DLP chips.
With the development of the project, there may be more DIY applications.
It uses a DLP projector to cure a layer of UV curing resin at a time, while the moving shaft gradually drops into the barrel of the resin.
The projected slice can solidify each layer and build the part.
This resin printer is different from the FormLabs 3D printer and some other printers in two ways. 1)
It uses DLP projectors instead of lasers to solidify each layer. 2)
It shines the light source from the top rather than from the bottom.
Advantages compared to laser-based bottom-up and DLP bottom-up design: simple low start-up-
Up cost can be modified to build quickly down (~1 evening)
Main components and materials: DLP project has two known options, although other options may work. 1)
DLP P1283 DLP projector (
EBay or other online sites)2)
Acer H6510BD dlp hd projector (eBay or other)
The linear slide/shaft works almost any linear shaft driven by a belt or a screw.
I chose a minimal version: I will include a list of parts with stripes for the Axis build.
A person who is more budget focused and adventurous can even choose the drawer slide, but you may find z-
The shaft will be a useful function.
4x4 plates of 1/2 or equivalent materials and hardware. The version shown here is very simple.
The two pices cut by the medium fiber board provide a bracket for the shaft, projector, and provide a stable foundation for the machine.
This 3D printer can design almost any type of housing.
Your main goal is frame rigidity and ambient light blocking. Ramps 1.
4 or Arduino-based electronic devices that can operate at least (1)
This building is characterized by ramp 1.
4 boards, step drivers, and Arduino Mega 2650 with standard Sprinter firmware.
Depending on the hardware you choose, some basic modifications need to be made.
None of these changes need to be known-
Depth of programming.
The firmware I used was modified for the 5/16 standard screw bar and has an end-stops disabled.
You can modify this firmware using the Arduino environment to further meet your needs.
UV ResinMakerjuice. com, Madesolid.
Com is two of the most popular and affordable options for UV resin for DIY resin printers, such as printers in this version.
The building has been tested with the G of Makerjuice.
Funtodo, form 1 and Spark/Ember resin recipes may be appropriate.
Build platform and plastic Tupperware. This build includes a plan to build a platform that is suitable for the specific Tupperware provided by \"wallyworld.
The benefit of the type selected in this release is that you can easily extend the various sizes, so there is no need for a lot of design modifications.
You also need extra containers
Curing/cleaning of resin parts.
The control software and SlicerI use the creation workshop to control and slice 3D models.
Download the creative workshop here.
Overview: I choose ramp 1.
This building.
This seems to be a bit overdone as an Audino UNO with only one stepping motor will work.
The ramp is a cheap option for additional step drives for wipers or tilt mechanisms.
You can also drive VAT 12 v heaters directly from the motherboard and support Temperature Monitoring later.
Only one step and one single axis are covered in this build. Materials:(1)RAMPS 1.
Example of month and Audruino MIGA 2560 with step DriversPurchase-
Sample purchase of Japanese 17 Stepping Motor for $40-
~ $1512 v 30 a power supply example-
A desktop computer of about $30 was installed in the Aurea environment and created the workshop. 1)
Connect the ramp to the 12 v power supply and connect the stepping motor to the z-axis ports.
View the cabling guide for this ramp.
* Please be careful not to switch the power cord and always unplug it.
* The only step you need to follow in the guide above is to connect the power to the ramp and connect (1)z-axis motor.
No need to end the stop and will be disabled in the firmware update. 2)
Configure and upload firmware * Note that a PC may need to be restarted between each milestone step * this step does not require a power connection.
I would suggest connecting the USB only to the RAMP/Arduino to update the firmware.
I have a link here to the Sprinter firmware version I used to build (
Folder must be named Sprintermod).
You can use this on your printer, but be careful.
You may need to change the steps according to the mm line in the firmware to fit the z-axis.
This is a good calculator.
Open the Arduino IDE app and then file> Open (sprintermod)
Folder, then open the icon for the \"Sprintermod\" Arduino file.
Several labels should appear (
If only one tab appears, you need to make sure that the folder name is correct).
Go to the 2nd tab \"configuration.
